SCHOOL FEES PROGRAM
Our School Fees Program, run by Kaweesi Henry, connects students from the Gujja Ting African Art organization with sponsors in the United States who provide funds for their schooling. The sponsorship is viewed more as that of a mentor/mentee relationship. GTAA wants to ensure that there is a real connection between the sponsors and their students. Only then will the program reach its full potential! Relationships between sponsor and students previously enrolled in the program continue to grow strong even after completion!
There are currently 12 students enrolled in the School Fees Program. These 12 individuals range from primary school up to that of a University level education. School is a very expensive necessity for families in Uganda. Many children do not get the opportunity to attend or finish some form of proper education - especially in large families with more than 1 child. Children without an education are less likely to be able to provide for his/her family in the future. Knowledge is strength - and one of Gujja Ting's missions is to help provide the fostering of knowledge through the School Fees Program, which can not only bring a child together with a loving sponsor, but impact their future for the better.
